Local talent shines at Slicefest

E-mail Print PDF

I only caught a few  of the acts performing at the day long Slice fest, Saturday, May 11.

Bailey Kate and her band were in the middle of a strong set of original heartfelt alt country and pop music with Richard Charlton playing bass, Joel Stretch playing keyboards, Joel Gray playing lead guitar and Mickey Hayward playing drums,  backing Bailey Kate’s beautiful voice.

I hadn't seen Samantha Savage Smith for several years, so it was good to see her again.

She and her band were playing new material, mostly in the pop/rock vein.

She had to cancel her last show wth Bailey Kate, to to was good to hear her mellifluous voice. Her band debuted   several new songs.

Queen of the Worms ended Slicefest, the Slice’s annual celebration of local music, but I missed their set.

Her band mates added superb vocal harmonies.
