Join
us on November 16th as we celebrate the birthday of our own best friend
and server/bartender extraordinaire: Miss Megan Rourke.
At
Megan's request, this birthday is a Masquerade Bash! Masks are
mandatory for this event, though masks will be available to purchase
inside if you cannot bring your own.
The evening's music will be provided by Queen Of The Worms and October Poppy (AKA Eryn Kleyh) plus other guests.
Queen of the Worms is a confessional-styled song-writing outlet which
originally began titularly in 1996. The name taken from a cartoon by
Rick Geary in the late 1980s.
Lyrical subject matter include:
reflections on the creative self; induced falling apart of mono-styled
personality identification towards a poly-styled 'public housing' unit
approach to personalities; a cook at a prison that is in
charge of preparing last meals to death sentenced inmates;
individualism; 'mystic' (abstract-poetic) incantations; house cats
irritated with their 'holders' attitudes; cats on wheels (you'll know it
when you hear it); emptiness and loneliness; and so on and so forth.
Musical instruments include: guitars (electric, acoustic, Hawaiian,
steel-dobro,classical, talk-boxed), basses (electric, acoustic), drums
(acoustic, djembe, various percussion), self-programmed electronic and
live electronic sounds/beats, hurdy-gurdy, crystal wine glasses,
accordion, scratching/samples, violin, piano.
