“Dance for Ukraine,” a special benefit concert for Ukraine presented by Troyanda Ukrainian Dance Club.
Troyanda feels that their mandate of promoting and preserving the art of Ukrainian Dance in Southern Alberta is now more important than ever. Even though many club members are affected by the war in Ukraine and it sometimes feels challenging to keep dancing, they have been emboldened to fight to keep Ukrainian culture alive locally as well as around the world. To share Ukrainian culture has taken on an even greater importance, and they thank the community for reaching out to partner with them in many fundraising events to benefit humanitarian aid in Ukraine.
“Dance for Ukraine” a special benefit concert for Ukraine will be taking place at the Yates Memorial Theatre Sunday May 15 at 1:30pm. Guests can choose the amount they wish to donate to humanitarian aid for Ukraine, as tickets will be by donation. A colourful and lively showcase of dances, costumes, and music from various regions of Ukraine will be presented for all of Lethbridge to enjoy.
Special Guests such as the Bridge Brass Quintet have lent their talents to add to the show. Troyanda is excited to be able to listen to some great music and to dance for everyone again. The hope is that many will come to watch a great show while being able to provide much needed support for Ukraine at the same time.
Tickets are by donation with all net proceeds going to support humanitarian aid for Ukraine and new immigrants who are coming to Alberta from Ukraine. Please be generous and contribute what you can!
